Stephen O’Malley

... went into production last week. You can view the artwork below.

I'm extremely pleased with the reslts of this piece and the collaboration in general. It treads new territory for the concept, developed and progressed ideas from the Kindertotenlieder piece (KTL1 were the initial sketches) and ecstatic direction.

Here's the obi text (all truths):

"Devastatingly beautiful four part companion to the acclaimed debut CD. Recorded in a former abattoir in Angers, as well as a 16th Century manoir in the extreme west of France by Stephen O'Malley and Peter Rehberg.

Takes the blueprint laid out on their first album even further, with the ecstatic build up of ‘Theme’, the near psychedelic ‘Abattoir’, and closing with the twisted romanticism of ‘Snow 2’.

An upgrade both artistically and emotionaly.

Elements of this album appeared in the finished version of the theatre piece ‘Kindertotenlieder’ by Gisèle Vienne and Dennis Cooper. The piece premiered at the Antipodes Festival in Brest, France, March 2007 and is currently touring internationally through 2007-8."

You can preorder the CD directly from Editions Mego for a lower price until 1st April if interested.

A vinyl edition will emerge as well through an undecided label.

And finally, Or will release the KTL3 12", which will complete the cycle of music concepts created for the Kindertotenlieder work.

KTL will be creating a soundtrack for a DVD edition of the silent Swedish classic horror film "The Phantom Carriage" as our next movement. This will emerge on the Tartan label later in 07.

Thanks for reading.
