Had a beautiful experience in Seville last week/end for the Easter processions. Such a powerful, emotional tradition! Paradox of reaching beyond but firmly rooted in the terrestrial. Although this is clearly in the public much time is spent chasing down the processions (or crossing the processions) on small side streets. Thanks to Patricia Terry for the guidance.

Here are the processions we witnessed:

Friday Midnight to 1400

El Silencio
El Grand Poder (entering church at dawn)
La Macarena
La Esperanza De Triana
Los Gitanos

Friday 1600 - Sat 200

La O (entering church)
San Isidoro
Montserrat
La Mortaja

Saturday 1300 - Midnight

Los Servitas (singing nuns)
La Trinidad
El Santo Entierro (by far the most frightening, on many levels not to mention the VIPs on the route)
La Soledad (entering church at midnight, incredible huge/silent crowd and 4 amazing tributary singers form the balconies)

Sunday morning

El Resucitado (entering church, white robes)
